Derbyshire Local Studies Library

As museums and galleries across the UK begin to reopen, please take extra care to check their websites and social media channels for up to date information as opening times, days and dates here may not be correct.

We are a reference collection of information about Derbyshire. In addition to books about the county we have periodicals, newspapers, maps and illustrations. In the Library we also have resources for family history of local and national interest including free access to the Ancestry website. Computers and microfilm readers are available for public use and can be booked in advance. We operate an enquiry service by phone, e-mail, or letter. Family history enquiries are charged at £8.50 for half an hours research.
