Being Human festival

Due to the coronavirus, museums and galleries across the country may be closed or you may have to book a timed ticket in order to visit. Please check their websites and social media channels for up to date information.

Events take place nationwide

Being Human is the UK’s only national festival of the humanities. From philosophy in pubs, history in coffeehouses, classics on social media and language lessons on street corners – the festival provides new ways to experience how the humanities can inspire and enrich our everyday lives. Being Human demonstrates the strength and diversity of the humanities, and how they can help us to understand ourselves, our relationships with others, and the challenges we face in a changing world. In 2019, the festival featured over 250 events organised by universities and research organisations across the country. In 2020, it is proud to return between 12-22 November for 11 days of big questions, big debates and engaging activities for all ages.
