Mental Spaces CIC endeavour to provide ‘socially excluded’ creative practitioners with support, facilities, skill development, education and empowerment whilst regenerating and utilising derelict public spaces in order to develop innovative and inspirational environments. We aspire to challenge the elitism of the art world by offering free space to exhibit a wide range of practices and thus developing the careers of Artists. This includes a casual yet educational programme: our ‘Drop-In’ Office system, art theory discussion groups, workshops and gallery viewing events. We consist of three 'creative units' - 'The Asylum' Art Gallery, 'Mental Images' Photo Studio and 'Smart Exhibitions'.
