Museum was founded in 2000 based on the collection donated by John Shering, a local businessman & benefactor of the town. Located in the middle of town in King's Yard, the museum building was a former granary. Managed and staffed entirely by volunteers. The museum is supported by an active and enthusiastic Friends group. We aim to change our displays annually and host touring exhibitions organised by Hampshire Museum Services.
