Frederick Lanchester Library Coventry University Gosford Street
West Midlands

The Lanchester Interactive Archive is the largest collection in the world dedicated to British engineer, physicist, mathematician, and entrepreneur Frederick Lanchester. The Lanchester Motor Company was based in Coventry between the 1930s and the 1950s, but Fred was also interested in aeronautics, optics, physics, music, and much more. The Archive has created a space within Coventry University Library where you can view part of the collection, sit inside a Lanchester car, and learn how Fred's inventions affect today’s technologies through augmented reality and serious games.
