Set in the only Victorian steam driven brickworks left in the country, the Brickworks at Bursledon allow you to walk in the footsteps of the old brickmakers. There is so much to see and learn as you follow the route the clay would have taken before transforming into a brick. So authentic you can almost hear the men working round you. You can try making a brick yourself and there are plenty of play opportunities for children. Once a month we steam up the old engines and get the machinery turning again.
The Museum is open on Wednesday, Thursday and Sundays from 11.00am to 4.00pm, from April to October. Once a month we steam-up the engines and get the old machinery turning. On these days we have trains running and other activities on site.
