London Fire Brigade Museum

Due to the coronavirus, many museums and galleries across the country are closed. Please check their websites and social media channels for up to date information about reopening dates and times.

Although we cannot currently welcome visitors, the London Fire Brigade is busy planning a new, state of the art museum which is due to open in 2024. The museum will be part of LFB’s old headquarters, a beautiful Grade II listed building right on the bank of the Thames! These plans form part of the larger 8 Albert Embankment redevelopment. The new museum will showcase our unique and exciting history with brand new galleries, offer a huge variety of events and activities for all ages and allow even more of LFB’s incredible collection of historic vehicles and artefacts to be put on display. Development funding of £200,000 has been awarded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund to help us progress our plans in order to apply for a full National Lottery grant of £1.7m at a later date. The development funding will allow us to develop the designs for the new museum, conduct audience research and fine tune the details of the project.
