A trip to Forty Hall & Estate is a memorable day out for all of the family. Forty Hall is a Grade 1 listed Jacobean Manor House, nestled in leafy Enfield and set amidst pleasure gardens, ancient royal parkland, majestic trees, lakes and watercourses. A venture in to the Hall promises to delight and impress. Our permanent exhibition tells the story of Forty Hall & Estate throughout the ages and looks at the life and times of Sir Nicholas Rainton and life in the seventeenth century. With a range of visual and audio interpretation and displays there are ample ways for all of the family to engage with learning about the Hall in an enjoyable way. A range of guided tours are also on offer at the Hall, led by a Jacobean character, to add value to your visit and further your understanding of the Hall’s history. With tours that focus on Sir Nicholas Rainton, the Hall’s stunning architecture and the story of Forty Hall & Estate there are plenty to choose from with a tour specially devised for children coming soon! 1st April – 31st October Tuesday – Friday - 11am – 5pm Saturday & Sunday - 12 noon – 5pm Hall open on Bank Holidays 12 noon – 5pm: Good Friday Easter Monday May Day Spring Bank Holiday August Bank Holiday 1st November – 31st March Tuesday – Friday - 11am – 4pm Saturday & Sunday - 12 noon – 5pm Hall open on Bank holidays 12 noon – 4pm: Boxing Day New Years Day Hall closed on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day Hall closes for cleaning and maintenance, 1st full week of January. Please Note: Forty Hall is available to hire for weddings and other special family occasions. Please contact us for further information. Meeting rooms available 7 days a week.

Travel directions:

By car: Junction 25 off the M25. Follow the heritage signs from the junction of Bullsmoor Lane or Carterhatch Lane on the A10. By train: From North - Turkey Street and 20 minute walk. From Central London - Enfield Town, Enfield Chase or Southbury and 191 bus to Forty Hill. By tube: Oakwood (Piccadilly Line) then buses 307 or 121 to Enfield Town Windmill Hill, then 191 to Forty Hill By bus: 191 or W10 to roundabout at Myddelton Avenue and then 10 minute walk up Forty Hill.
