The Rhondda Heritage Park based at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery, Trehafod, is one of the top heritage and cultural visitor attractions in South Wales and provides a fun and interesting day out for individuals, groups, school children and students. First port of call is The Visitor Centre which houses the Art Gallery, Level One Café , Gift Shop and period re-constructed village street. Admission to this area is free except on special event days. underground mining Tour features a fully guided tour with ex-miners and involves a tour of the pit head buildings and a trip 'underground' to experience the life of a coal miner. Rhondda Heritage Park is also home to the Energy Zone Childrens Play Area. There is an admission charge for the Underground Experience & Energy Zone.

By Road Signposted from junction 32 of the M4 to the A470 Pontypridd. Rhondda Heritage Park is located between Pontypridd and Porth. Ample free coach and car parking available on site Reserved disabled parking By Train From Cardiff Central Station to Trehafod (home of Rhondda Heritage Park) the service runs every half an hour ( Mon – Sat) Enquires : 08457 484950 By Bus Details of the number 132 and X32 buses can be found on the Stagecoach website. By Cycle Using the National Cycle Network the Park is only 4km/2.5 miles from Pontypridd Town Centre using the section Pontypridd to Porth.

Disabled Access The site is fully accessible to disabled visitors although access underground is not currently available to wheelchair users due to the risk associated with emergency evacuation.
